4×4 Spotlights

4×4 Spotlights are a very important accessory on your car. Not only do they look good, they are vital for seeing well at night. This is especially important if you live in a country where there are a lot of animals that are able to get on the road. These can include kangaroos, cows, sheep and other animals. Like all 4×4 accessories, the range of spotlights is simply huge. You can purchase small ones, massive ones, halogen, HID and various other forms. The best spotlights though need to be chosen by an individual. Not everyone wants to go out and spend a thousand dollars on spotlights, but they suit people who do a lot of night driving. At the end of the day it comes down to the value of your Used 4×4 Trucks.

Spotlights are usually rated based on candle power. For those who drive a lot at night HID spotlights are the best bet, but you can also get HID conversions for the standard halogen which can be a cheap option too. You can get 4×4 spotlights from various four wheel drive shops along with stores online and even camping and outdoor shops.

Where do you mount 4×4 spotlights?

Spotlights can be mounted on the roof, on roof racks, on the bulbar, on the rear of the car and underneath the car. For rock driving, you can buy small LED lights which help light up the underneath of the car. This is vital when you are going over rocks, as you can easily damage the driveline components by not seeing rocks. A lot of four wheel drives mount spotlights or even just work lights on the back of the car. This is for those who do a lot of work out the back of the car, or for those who are towing. When reversing, it’s a good idea to have lights up as the standard reversing lights are not that good. Even more to the point, if you have a trailer or boat on the back then the lights are blocked out by the trailer!

Prices of 4×4 spotlights

4×4 spotlights range from incredibly cheap right through to very, very expensive. The costs add up considerably when you put multiple lights on the car too. Many of the older four wheel drives have poor high beam lights, so adding even the cheapest 4×4 spotlights to the vehicle will make a massive difference. However, the newer four wheel drives have better technology and are able to create further distance and a greater beam. In saying this though, nothing compares to a decent set of HID spotlights mounted on the bull bar or roof rack. Roof rack mounted lights tend to work better due to the higher angle, as they can shine light closer to the vehicle. In saying that though, you need to consider what is legal where you live. In many places you are not allowed to mount 4×4 spotlights on the roof, and some places have restrictions on the number of lights you can have on your car.

Above all though, the added security of driving with 4×4 spotlights is well worth the money that you spend. There is nothing worse than having to brake suddenly or swerve because a big cow has jumped out in front of you! Having the better vision allows you react earlier. It’s so easy to roll a vehicle when you have to react quickly, which is why having the extra time to react is helpful. Combine your spotlights with 4×4 Bullbars and you are much safer!
